Welcome to the Dobson Museum. Recently renovated, the museum offers a fresh immersive experience for visitors. Eight galleries feature interactive exhibits and curated artifacts that bring the stories of Northeast Oklahoma to life. Paired with the historic Nellie Dobson Home, the experience blends past and present—inviting you to explore, connect and learn.

Experience a place where local history feels a little bigger—and a little richer. From the largest barn quilt in Ottawa County to thousands of artifacts and stories, each visit offers something new. Explore at your own pace, with docents available to share insights, answer questions, and highlight key moments. It’s an experience that’s both personal and memorable.

Gift Shop

The Dobson Museum Gift Shop is a destination in itself. Visitors often stop in just to find a meaningful local keepsake—from unique items to one of the most sought-after pieces: a detailed map of Native American allotments in Ottawa County. Widely regarded as one of the most accurate of its kind, it offers a rare and authentic connection to the region’s history.

PARKING: Free parking is available in the museum lot on the northwest corner of the property, along 1st Ave SW just west of A St SW.

Accessibility

The Dobson Museum is designed to welcome visitors of all ages and abilities. Our exhibit galleries are fully accessible, and an elevator provides access to both floors.


The historic Nellie Dobson Home (1916) has limited accessibility due to its preserved, original construction. Ramp access is available on the north side; however, interior spaces may be difficult to navigate for some visitors.
